Our verdict on SiteGround
SiteGround is our #9 web host for 2026 and our pick for the friendliest support. Its StartUp plan, $1.99/month through our special deal, runs on Google Cloud servers and includes free SSL, a free CDN, unlimited email accounts, built-in caching and free daily backups, backed by 24/7 chat, phone and ticket support.
Hosting websites since 2004, SiteGround is known for fast, well-managed servers and a support team that customers rave about. Its entry plan is small, with room for one website and 10 GB of storage, and it doesn’t include a free domain, but for a single site that needs to run smoothly it’s a quality choice.

How SiteGround’s pricing compares
SiteGround’s three plans are easy to compare. StartUp is for one website, GrowBig allows unlimited sites with staging, on-demand backups and faster PHP, and GoGeek adds Git, more resources and priority support for busy sites and developers.
At $1.99/month through our special deal, SiteGround StartUp costs about a third less than the $3.10 average of the other hosts in our top 10. It matches Bluehost and Hostinger, and only IONOS starts lower. That’s remarkable value for premium Google Cloud servers, smart caching and some of the best support in the business. Just be aware that SiteGround’s renewal prices are much higher than its intro rates.
Speed & reliability
Fast, well-managed servers. In our testing, SiteGround delivered quick page loads and a clean uptime record, helped by its Google Cloud infrastructure, smart caching and 24/7 server monitoring.
SiteGround runs its hosting on Google Cloud, with datacenters in the US, Europe, Asia and Australia connected by one of the fastest networks around. Built-in static and dynamic caching, plus a free CDN, help pages load quickly for visitors wherever they are.
Servers are monitored 24/7 with redundant power, and SiteGround keeps 30 days of daily backups so your data is never far from a restore point. Reliability is a top priority, and SiteGround has a strong track record to show for it.
Security that keeps your site online
SiteGround protects every site with its own web application firewall and AI-powered anti-bot system, plus free SSL certificates to keep visitor data encrypted. Daily backups and free restores mean you can roll your site back quickly if anything goes wrong.
Customer support
Famously fast and friendly. SiteGround’s support team is known for being fast, friendly and helpful, and our experience matched. In our checks, live chat answered in seconds and agents gave clear, genuinely useful answers.
SiteGround offers 24/7 support by live chat, phone and help desk tickets, with tickets typically getting a first reply within about 15 minutes. An instant AI assistant can also answer many common questions on the spot.
Customers agree: SiteGround’s support earns consistently high satisfaction ratings, and the user reviews below praise its agents for patience and for giving straight answers rather than brush-offs.
Ways to get help
- Live chat, 24/7: answers in seconds
- Phone, 24/7: for sales, billing and technical help
- Tickets: a first reply in about 15 minutes
- AI assistant: instant answers to common questions
Ease of use
SiteGround makes running a site easy. WordPress installs in one click and is kept updated for you, and SiteGround’s own speed and security tools are built in, so there’s little to configure yourself.
Moving from another host? SiteGround’s free WordPress migration plugin can move your site for you, or its team can do it for a small fee.
The control panel
SiteGround uses its own Site Tools control panel instead of cPanel. It’s clean and modern, letting you manage email accounts, domains, website statistics, apps and databases from one place.
If you’ve used cPanel before, Site Tools takes a little getting used to, but we found it easy to work with after a short while, even for beginners.
SiteGround rating breakdown
We score every host on the same 10 criteria. Here’s how SiteGround earned its 8.9.
What SiteGround customers say
Very patient, and we got it done
“The rep was very patient, and we got the issue resolved despite my lack of technical understanding. However, I really think that had I been able to speak to him on the phone instead of chat, we could have resolved it within ten minutes instead of the 50 minutes it took. But the rep was great!”
A little pricey, but solid
“They are a little on the pricey side compared to comparable cheap plans, but they offer most of the basic requirements sites need. Had a little difficulty getting one of the scripts to install but support got it remedied quickly. I'll stick with them for now.”
Not all that bad
“They aren’t the best, but by no means the worst host I’ve come across in my web travels. They offer mostly everything I need for the website: PHP, SQL, shopping cart, etc. Uptime is good, support is OK and price is OK. Customer support was a little quick to get off the phone, but they got me the answer I needed.”
Good, but not the best
“At first glance they would appear to be a top host. Mostly everything is "ok" however, but tech support isn't the greatest/fastest out there. They got the issue resolved "finally", but it took some yanking around. Features however are plentiful and price is decent.”
Email problem
“Only by merest chance did I discover their spam filter (which can't be turned off) filters both incoming and outgoing mail without bothering to tell you it has done so. They simply kill any message that they think *might* be inappropriate and then say "Well, if you thought it should have gone through you can appeal." But how do you know it didn't go through? I suppose you could attach a receipt request to everything...”
Good for us
“As long as you have decent knowledge of hosting, you will be fine with them. For the cheap price, you really can't expect someone to do everything for you, but they will do what they can. I've actually found their support to be great, given the few times they had to be contacted.”
Reliable and quick
“All the features we need to run a medium-sized storefront. Reliable and quick also.”
Some of the best tech support
“Their tech support is some of the best I’ve come across. Very quick to answer, and they provide the answers that you need, not what they want you to hear to get you to go away.”
